I love clean carpet!

This weekend we rented a carpet steamer from Lowe’s and cleaned the carpet in our apartment. The rental cost around $30. I know, it may sound lame but the dream of clean floors had me so excited! Darling said that he didn’t really see why I wanted them cleaned so bad, but I knew they were filthy. He said he couldn’t tell. (For a little insight, our not-too-old apartment has a kind of sculpted berber carpet and it is a light mixed tan.)

When we moved into the apartment in November, I noticed they weren’t done. We asked the manager a few times if we could get them cleaned since they weren’t before we moved in and he or she…whoever was managing at the moment would say, “sure” and write it down. But the site manager changed several times, so no worries, I don’t think our all-important message was passed on. We just did it.

We used vinegar with just a drop of dish soap as our solution and it worked amazing! One pass in a traffic area and Darling called me over to look. You could see the grime line in the carpet — a sharp contrast of the before and after. It only took us about three hours and that is including moving the furniture out.

I LOVE my clean floors now! A task that was totally worth it!
